Open Question: I don’t get along with my brother, I don’t think we’ll ever get along…Thoughts?

I am 22 years old, my brother is 26. He moved out 1.5 years ago with his girlfriend. He was 24 when he moved out…
Now that he is independent and lives through challenges, he tries to put pressure on me. I graduated from college in spring 2008. I had a full time job for 6 months and I got laid off because of the crisis. Now I am getting Employment Insurance. In September I am going back to college for Medical Office Administration. Right now I don’t have a job and would rather not get one for the summer. It’s too much hassle and I’d rather not lose my EI. I have my future planned out. I am going back to college, going to get a job (career), work for a couple of years & get married to my b/f (in 4 years, by that time we’ll be dating for 8 years). I am very faithful and optimistic in my future. When I set goals, I usually achieve them.
The problem is that my brother keeps lecturing me about not having a job, not taking initiative to prepare myself for my future job, and so on. He keeps doing that to me every day. If it’s not about a job, he’ll find something else to lecture me about. My grandmother says siblings should be very tight, because after all, we are the closest next to family. But my brother and I have such different values, lifestyle, goals, beliefs…. I thought there is something wrong with me perhaps, but it isn’t! He thinks I am spoiled, but I am not. I have my future planned out. Sure I have it easy now, I live with my parents. But who told him to move out? I tried getting along with him, but it’s really hard to. The only way he communicates with me is by lecturing me. I am sick and tired of that. He says he doesn’t want me to make the same mistakes that he did and doesn’t want me to face harsh reality. But I am not the same person as he is and I am not going to rush moving out. I am a smart young lady. But no matter how I try to explain that to him, he will not understand. I tried getting along with him for the sake of my grandmother and my parents but I don’t think I can do that anymore. I think that I will reduce the amount of communication with him and just not bother anymore; I will ignore his remarks.
I would rather make mistakes on my own and learn from them.
I really sometimes feel that I hate my brother. It’s like hate/love sibling relationship… I don’t know.. It’s too bad that my brother and I don’t get along. Even since we were kids we never got along, we got into severe fights. How could we be so different? Really, it’s too bad. I tried on my part, but I don’t think he’ll ever change. I am tired of him trying to change me & lecturing me.

My desire is to help people, so I want to become a nurse. I seriously reevaluated my goals to determine what future career would best fit my interests and abilities. I met a person who really knows about medical careers, and we have spoken at length about my plans. In this field I will also get benefits, such as health insurance for my family.
My dad lost his job. Each of my family member needs to work individually to get money. My mom works at the nail salon,so I just need to earn my pocket money. I tried to do my homework everyday, but I have alittle tiime to study for SATs
Currently, Iam the president of the Asian club in high school. I have been doing martial art in Asian club since my freshment year,and the members and I have performed in many places such as six flags, middle school, and elementary schools.
Therefore, I consider this sport to be an essential part of my life.

This is a question from my boyfriend..Hello, I am 16 years old and I live with my mother and sister. My mother has a lot of physical problems and is confined to bed. I have no where else to go and have no more family. I take care of her and bring her everything she needs and im basicly her slave and do everything in the house but pay the bills. She does not work. She is disabled. Once I get a job I will need to pay the bills. Im also watching over my sister. She is 15 and has mental illness. My mother makes me feel guitly for everything and doesnt appreciate what I do for her and doesnt say thank you for anything unless I complain about it. I have been taking care of her for 2 years. Her insurance doesnt cover for her to have nurses in the house. It stresses me out a lot and in the past I have done some stupid things to deal with the stress. I REALLLLLY dont want to be here. I dont know if I can take 2 more years untill I am 18. I dont feel like I can be here anymore.
My girlfriend and her mother want me to live with them. They agreed to build me a bedroom, and I wouldnt have to take care of anybody but myself. I would only have maybe a couple chores, but probably none. She is a good mother and would give me a good family based life. I think me and my girlfriend could both do better in school then because we wouldnt be so stressed. But I am having trouble being able to just leave my mom and sister to go get a better life. My girlfriend and her mother are telling me to think about myself for once but It is hard for me to do that. No matter what I choose people I love will be hurt. What should I do? Thank you!
