Open Question: what are your thought about this sprained ankle, or not?
hi, i think i sprained my ankle while running about five days ago. here are some of the details, let me know what you think…
i’m 27 now and used to run when i was in my early 20′s, and so recently i decided to get back to it. i ran a few times without incident. small runs of about 20 minutes. but i ran for a long time five days ago, about an hour (that’s long for me), and the next day i was really sore. like my knees hurt and my right hip was killing me, and my feet (left foot, right ankle) were messed up, my left one significantly less than the right. now, five days later, the knees are almost 100% ok and the left foot still kinda hurts, but not the ankle… it’s more the muscles where the little bones are in the middle of my sole… and the right ankle is still very painful.

so… did i sprain that ankle? and if so, what should i do? i’ve been wrapping it when i have to use it, ya know, for work and life and stuff. and elevating it at nights when i get home. and icing it, because that’s nice. but when will it not be painful? i walk with a limp. not because i have to, but because if i dont i feel the pain, and i dont want to injure it any further. should i just use it fully with the pain and that will be better than the limp?

by the way, i have full range of motion and virtually no swelling/ bruising. does this mean i just pulled some ligaments around the ankle and didn’t actually damage the joint?

also, when i point my toes all the way, that’s where the pain really is. it hides at the tip of my movement.

thoughts?

AND i’m one of the millions of americans without health insurance.

Resolved Question: Advise about my fatherly rights. Urgent?
First here is what happened:

My ex girlfriend was originally from FL. She lived in TN where I live and met her. We dated for almost 2 years and she became pregnant. I was working 2 jobs at the time and in my opinion I was a very good boyfriend. We had been fighting and all of a sudden when I came home she was gone back to FL. She was about 6 months pregnant with our daughter. I tried my best to keep in contact with her after she left it was very hard because she isnt very cooperative. I didn’t know our daughter was born untill about a week after she was born.

She had to signup for insurance/food stamps in FL and that started the process of Child Support. I never cared about it and was happy to establish rights. She was very uncooperative during the paternity process and kept going to the wrong place and at one point told me she was going to drop it so that I would have no rights. I kept pushing it and finally establish that I was infact the Father.

She had a boyfriend a little bit after she was born back in September 07. He was a bad person who yelled all the time, layed drunk everywhere and smoked marijuana. My ex even took the baby to a new years eve party at a hotel. I was told all of this when she was confiding in me at one point. I question her mothering abilities sometimes.

She got a new boyfriend whom she recently married. She tells my daughter that he is her father. When I talk to my ex on the phone and if I want to talk to my daughter she tells me that if I ever refer to myself as “daddy” she will take the phone away and I will never talk to her again. At this point she is 1 1/2 years old. I have ever seen her because I cant really afford to travel to FL that much. There is 1000 miles between us. She also tells me that if I come down I am waisting my time because she wont let me see her because I don’t have to. She won’t even send me pictures and has blocked me from myspace where I use to be able to view pictures. The last time I was able to see her profile all of the pictures of our daughter was with her new boyfriend/husband with the caption saying “Bre and her father”.

When I went to court they ordered me to pay $400 a month in child support. I am ok with that. I would pay anything for my daughter. I have no visiation or custody. I can only visit if the mother says its ok. I

I have no idea what to do. I want to see her but its hard because of money. I want visitation and joint custody but it seems impossible.

I am on the verge of signing my rights over to her new husband because I want to do what’s best for her and also what is best for me.

Alot of days it almost kills me to walk through life carrying this burden. I almost feel like it would be easier for my daughter to find me when she is 18 and I can keep a journal or something and explain everything to her. Explain that I tried everything I could and that her mother made everything difficult.

How would custody work? How would visitation work? What can I do and what happens if I sign my rights over and something happens to the Mother. What if she got arrrested or something. Then what?

Any advise would be great. I just dont know what I should do. To make matters worse I lost my job and now I am falling behind on child support
