Resolved Question: Babies with ongoing health issues-need your opinion?
I have 3 children,
First is a boy whos 5 and healthy,
2nd a girl ( 33 months) who carrys mild autism symptoms but has not been diagnosed with autism. She has speech delays and seems to act like a 2 year old and not like shes almost 3. She also has issues with her muscle tone-like shes stiff.
3rd-Congenial heart defect, with weight issues, she cant gain weight and has been on a external feeding tube since Nov 21 08 and on feb 18 they plan to do the PEG and insert the internal one in her tummy.

I have therapy twice a week for 2nd child and go to about a 2 doctors offices (in the medical center 20 miles away each way) about twice a week. My life is engrossed with doctors offices, hospitals and clinics. It is back to back and never seems to end. I am so stressed out its gonna kill me. TO say the least I cannot work so we are constantly short on money. WE have free medicaid but we make so little and my husband goes to school still that even the gas to and from all her appointments adds up. Plus the parking is $10 for each visit unless I park at the park and walk like a mile which only works if the weather permits it.
the 3rd one gets feedings every 3 hours for 30 minutes, I mean all day and all night, my alarm goes nonstop. She is also anemic and weak, shes not healthy and cries ALL the time. I cant let her cry too much because it gets her all worked up and overworks her heart.
I also babysit her 11 month old cousin on tuesdays, and shes a little BULLY lol. Plus to top things off I am pregnant when we were using condoms and I was nursing full time. I have heard her pediatrician suggest that there is a underlying genetic issue causing the girls sicknesses. I am scared to death that this baby wont be healthy.

How do you moms cope and deal with it? My husband isnt involved in ANY of thier treatment because he works and studies so he doesnt really understand what im going thru. Plus they are on medicaid so its hell finding all the specialists that will accept their crappy state insurance. I just need advice.

Open Question: i am young, pregnant and need some good advice!?
Hi everyone,
I am not a 14 year old here asking what to do… I can’t even believe all those stories on here.

I’m 18, just barely, and found out I was pregnant about a month ago.

I am keeping my baby- but haven’t told anyone really about it.
The dad lives far away, and does not support my choice. But I am not letting that effect me.

Anyway, I live with my parents- I’m in college but not living adult life whatsoever.
To be honest I have had everything handed to me my whole life. And my parents will not accept my choice- that’s why I haven’t told them… They would advise me to have an abortion…
I have been down that road and I can’t do it again. There is nothing I have ever regreted more. :(

So anyway I have come up with a plan, but I need advice with a few things…
I have never had a job – ever.
Last week I got a full time job at a day care center. The pay is good, and I get benefits like health insurance. But I’m not even sure that would cover my baby.
But my real question is how do I build credit? And quickly. I need to find an apartment, and buy a car…so much so fast and I don’t know how to do any of that.
I got my job, but I don’t have enough in savings to buy a car, and no credit to finance one…
Also can I even rent an apartment at 18?
I know my parents are going to kick me out and take my car, so I don’t really know what to do.
That’s why I haven’t told them.
But I guess all I need is some useful advise on how to be a grown-up basically overnight.

Sorry this is long- I’m stressed.
Please let me know any information you think would be helpful.
I am not looking for talk to my parents- I have been here before and I want everything figured out before I go to them. I felt I was backed into having an abortion last time because of the financial card they have over me.

And I have a job and am going to work hard- I am not going to be on that long list of teen moms on welfare. :( any advise would help.
Thanks.
I am well aware where babies come from.
‘ I should have learned the first time’?
I’m sorry I have a lot going on and keep rudness to yourself.
I am just as pregnant and moody and sensitive…
But I am not stupid. People make mistakes and I am being adult about this (trying to)
And the important thing is I’m keeping my baby. :( I’m sorry I am very sensitive right now and there is no need for being mean.
And thanks for all the help everyone!
I am going on the websites listed to learn more!!
I appreciate it all! :)

Open Question: parents kicking me out. How do you start a new life?
ok a little bit about myself. i am 20 years old and live with my parents, while attending college full time and working part time on $800/month income. currently I’m not paying rent, not paying bills (except my own CC bill), nothing, my parents have basically let me have a free ride through my 2 years of college so far, so you can see why I’m still living with them and not out on my own yet (why move out when I have everything I need for free?) Most of my money I get from my job just goes in the bank, I have about $2,000 in the bank right now that I’m not using.

any way, long story short me and my mother keep getting into fights and arguments. I can’t stand living here any more, she harasses me and makes fun of me 24/7, and is becoming a very unpleasant person to be around. I want to move out and be on my own. And my parents are basically kicking me out. Here’s the problem though, since I’ve never done taxes, paid bills, or lived on my own, I really have no clue what to do. I’m worried that if I move out and start looking for an apartment I’m going to get in trouble with the law, like forgetting to pay taxes or bills or something just because simply I do not really know how to or what to do.

I want to eventually in the future become a police officer so as you can see I really do not want to get into any trouble with the law, I want to stay as clean as possible (so far the only thing I have is 1 speeding ticket). I have perfect credit, my credit card bill is the only thing I pay for myself. I feel that if I stay here any longer with my mother, things are going to get physical with our arguments and I’m going to end up in jail or something (she probably would call the police on me just to spite me). I wouldn’t beat her up or anything but I definitely could get mad and throw a chair at her or something. I obviously want to avoid this situation to begin with! I need to move out.

I don’t have my own car, technically I do but I don’t own it, my dad owns it and pays the insurance payments. I think if I move out they will probably take that away too and not let me bring it whereever I move to. So I would have to get a car for myself too which I have no clue what to do.

I don’t know this whole situation just leaves me very bitter. It’s one thing if I had to fend for myself from the beginning, but it’s another thing to have everything and just have it suddenly taken away. I have no clue what to do! They are like “Oh sure, you can live with us until you complete college, don’t worry son we’ll do everything for you.” and now all of the suddenly on the end of my 2nd year college it just all gets taken away. I’m now supposed to be stuck with paying for the rest of my college education, on top of finding a place to live, buying a car, paying insurance? WTF! It’s like getting hit by a train all at once.

What about if I get sick? I don’t even know how to go to a doctor’s office and like what you have to do there. Do you just walk into any doctor’s office? Do you have to sign up or something with one? My parents currently pay for my health care needs. I have no clue what to do with that if i were out on my own. What about dentist appointments? I go to the dentist twice a year, again my parents pay for it. How does that work if I suddenly move out on my own? Does the dentist cancel my membership and I have to find my own dentist? or does it transfer over to me? !!! AHH!

I’m in a panic.

What should I do! Any advice? I know you are all probably going to say “join the military and go overseas” and trust me I would, but I just can’t now that I’m tied up with college, I can’t just abandon college right after the semester has just begun and before I finish college, if I drop out now I get “F”s on all my classes.

I’ve found some apartments and rooms for $400-500 a month. On $800/month income I could afford that with some money left over I think. But OK, I move into one of those apartments, now what do I do?

What about my dentist appointments? Doctor appointments? Cell phone bill? Insurance payments? Taxes that need to be filed yearly with the federal government? College tuition?

If I ignore all that stuff, what happens? Does the government go after my parents, or me? My parents currently pay all that stuff. What happens if they just stop paying when I move out? Who gets in trouble them or me?

Do I have to tell the government I moved to a different place? Do I need to update my address with them? or will it automatically transfer over? What about the post office? What do I do with that?

See, I’m so confused!!! I have no clue how this stuff works.

Am I just to abandon college and live in a box? 2 years of going to classes wasted?

I should just go live out in the forest alone in a tent because honestly right now I don’t care. Of course I don’t even know how that works. Would the government fly a helicopter looking for me in the forest because I’m not paying taxes? I don’t eve

FriendFeed I’m just watching the aweber 30DC+ videos right now. Caro mentions putting in a street address for the footer, because legally you need one. Is it time to get a PO box for this. I certainly don’t want to put my actual address in. Does everyone here have a business address?
