Open Question: Staffing agency health insurance or Cobra 23/m just became independent student off parents H.Insurance?
I’m 23/m and just lost my parents health insurance due to age a month ago. I have a full time job working for a staffing company and am eligible for their menial coverage plan 160 a month it’s basic coverage. I also understand since I’ve had a major insurance plan (blue cross blue shield) with my parents for my entire life I would be eligible for Cobra continuation coverage. Does anyone know the general cost of Cobra and would this insurance be a better option then using my staffing insurance? My old health insurance plan under my parents was great… a lot of coverage so I’m wondering what Cobra would cost if I wanted to continue coverage and if it’s a better option then getting the menial coverage my staffing company is offering for 160 a month?
I know there’s a lot of questions to be asked but generally speaking would taking cobra be a better idea?
I do have a pre-existing condition (stomach problems) I will need a CT scan almost immediately when my coverage begins.
