Open Question: How can I become a pilot for hire (commercial pilot) without completely starting my life over.?
I have wanted to be a pilot since I was 12 years old. I have stumbled into a life that doesn’t seem to make this dream accessible and it is just not the right carear path for me. I was hoping someone might be able to give me some insight on how to start making some changes to make my dream possible. Let me give you my scenario.
I am a 20 year old married man who has basically already started a life path. I own a house as of only one year ago and therefore have a mortgage to go with it. I work in my father’s insurance agency where I am literally half the help for a fairly large book of business. If I liquidated all of my assets I might be able to come up with 30k, and have no where to live, nothing to drive, no health insurance(because I’m married) and only a hope of ever seeing myself that well financially again.
I considered doing online schooling through Embry Riddle or Everglades University, but know that in my current lifestyle I wouldn’t be able to keep up on the work. I feel like the only way I could accomplish my dream at this point would be to sell off everything I have, move south (I live in New England) and go to college full time at an aeronautical university while my wife stays living up here with one of our parents just waiting for me in “limbo”.
What should I do?
I’m not in it for the money…besides, currently I only gross 28k/yr. I could make that in any carear.

Who else is addicted to Y! Answers? I haven’t been a member on here for very long..I did it semi frequently and then stopped for a couple of months and lately I haven’t been able to get off of this website!!! Hahaha I guess because I don’t get to talk horses too much in my every day life 
Seriously, though, this website is going to be my downfall! I work from home as a data collector for my brother in law’s insurance agency and instead of doing that I’m alwaysssss on here!!! Hahaha
The only thing I hate is that it subtracts 5 points for asking a dang question!!!!

Resolved Question: Why did 9/11 victim family get compensation from government?
i understand 9/11 was tragedy. But i don’t understand why 100′s of thosuands of dollars were paid to the family of victims by taxpayer money?
For example, if i get killed in car crash or get shot in robbery, will government pay my family? Life insurance is supposed to do that. So this amounts to victim family making profit out of death?
Some conspiracy theories state that victim family wanted full investigation of 9/11 to be done by non-government and neutral agency. To avoid that investigation, government paid them the money to keep quiet.
CNBC says AMTRAK loses $32 on average for every customer who takes the train. I wonder how much longer passenger trains stick around?
