Open Question: Trying to get a replacement SS Card?
I was robbed awhile back. Im trying to replace my ss card. This is what they are asking. I dont have any of it and am open for ideas:
We can accept only certain documents as proof of identity. An acceptable document must be current (not expired) and show your name, identifying information and preferably a recent photograph. Social Security will ask to see a U.S. driver’s license, state-issued nondriver identification card or U.S. passport as proof of identity. If you do not have the specific documents we ask for, we will ask to see other documents including:
* Employee ID card;
* School ID card;
* Health insurance card (not a Medicare card);
* U.S. military ID card;
* Adoption decree;
* Life insurance policy; or
* Marriage document (only in name change situations).
All documents must be either originals or copies certified by the issuing agency. We cannot accept photocopies or notarized copies of documents.We may use one document for two purposes. For example, we may use your U.S. passport as proof of both citizenship and identity. Or, we may use your U.S. birth certificate as proof of age and citizenship. However, you must provide at least two separate documents.
Open Question: Wondering if anyone has heard of this ridiculous rule?
I have a buddy who’s Homeowners Insurance dropped him because he does not have central heat and air. His insurance company told him that this is a new law passed by the insurance commission. Yet, get this, he called the commission and they tell him their is no such law. He has called several homeowners insurance companies and they all tell him the same thing. Now the inspectors are telling him that if he does not get homeowners insurance they can condemn his home.
He has called his congressman and different state agencies, he cannot seem to get anywhere with them. Anyone have any ideas I might can give him of who he might can contact about this?
He is on disability, which really limits him financially.
He lives in the State of Georgia. Wondering if anyone else who maybe in this state have ever heard of this?
Yeah, Charles C, if you read my question you will see that my friend call the commission and they told him their is no such law. But, the insurance companies are telling him this and they informed him that is the reason they dropped him.
Open Question: How can I become a pilot for hire (commercial pilot) without completely starting my life over.?
I have wanted to be a pilot since I was 12 years old. I have stumbled into a life that doesn’t seem to make this dream accessible and it is just not the right carear path for me. I was hoping someone might be able to give me some insight on how to start making some changes to make my dream possible. Let me give you my scenario.
I am a 20 year old married man who has basically already started a life path. I own a house as of only one year ago and therefore have a mortgage to go with it. I work in my father’s insurance agency where I am literally half the help for a fairly large book of business. If I liquidated all of my assets I might be able to come up with 30k, and have no where to live, nothing to drive, no health insurance(because I’m married) and only a hope of ever seeing myself that well financially again.
I considered doing online schooling through Embry Riddle or Everglades University, but know that in my current lifestyle I wouldn’t be able to keep up on the work. I feel like the only way I could accomplish my dream at this point would be to sell off everything I have, move south (I live in New England) and go to college full time at an aeronautical university while my wife stays living up here with one of our parents just waiting for me in “limbo”.
What should I do?
I’m not in it for the money…besides, currently I only gross 28k/yr. I could make that in any carear.
