Open Question: Should I let my stepson come to live with us?
This is both me and my husbands second marriage. He has a son that is 11 that lives in another state whose mom doesn’t want to take responsibility for him. He also has a daughter that is 15 and has a baby that is less than a year old and pregnant again. The mom wants to send the son to live with us and my husband is ok but I’m not… when his son was 9 he came to live with us because of some of the same issues, I enrolled him in school (took a day off from work) and he lived with us for about a month before his dad took him back to live with his mom. The brief moment that his son did live with us his son didn’t get along with my children because he is spoiled and his dad always takes his side. (We raised our children with different morals and values) I was supportive at first of the son coming the first time, but eventually because of the differences my husband would make between my son and his son I felt like my kids felt and was ready for the son to go. I know that his son needs him but here is the kicker… My husband only brings home about $1200.00 per month, which is not alot. He’s complained for the last year that he doesn’t make enough money to do anything with. He contributes about $600 to the household per month because he has personal bills that he pays monthly (cell phone, car insurance, car note, etc) so he’s usually not left with a lot of money. At the same time he doesn’t have enough get up and go to find better employment, sometimes I think he just wants a job to drop in his lap. He has one more car payment which will free up $320 per month but I don’t feel that $320 is enough money to bring in additional person to take care of. I pay the largest bill which is mortgage. The mortgage is $1205.00 per month. I feel that the $320 should be additional money going towards the household. I feel like he needs to get a second job and possibly change his hours. Need I mention that my husband work hours are from 11am – 9 pm five days of the week. He said for the last three years that he will do what he needs to do to get his son, but so far he hasn’t made a move to do anything. I told him that he is not in the position to bring his son to live with us at this time. Am I wrong, or just being realisitic?
Open Question: My girlfriend is suicidal and dont want anyone!?
I just spoke with her on MSN, we have had some ups and downs lately, partially both of our faults but I also fucked up once.
She came online a few hours ago, we spoke shortly and she said that I should find another gf if something happened to her and I should get a white cuffin.
I got her to stay longer and I found out she doesnt want me, she doesnt want her family and she just want to be left alone to die. She has given up, and is really sad because she has a lot of pain she wrote to me about her life insurance to clarify some things. About what it meant, it basically was referring to her insurance not paying anything in case of suicide. She just said that sucked and nothing else.
She says she can never be happy with me or anyone else, she was sick of me always saying that we would be happy together.
She is VERY dark right now, suicidal, even searched the internet how to commit suicide by hanging.
I know it sounds like a cry for help. She is sad because of her condition, the pay she has, that its nearly impossible for her to have a child, that she is not getting pregnant, that she is not happy with me, that she does not trust me either. She told me she has given up, that she is FED up.
I dont know how to interpret all this and I dont know what to do. I know that I dont care about her leaving me right now (duh of course I do), but the most important thing is that SHE is okay, that SHE gets better and feels happy.
I can use any advice right now and any thoughts on this as I am lost.
