Open Question: I’m sick of babysitting my boyfriend… How do I fix this?
I have been dating my boyfriend for 5 months and he is a sweetheart. He carries me when I don’t feel like walking. Opens all my doors. even puts my seat belt on for me. Makes me laugh all the time. Tells me I’m beautiful even when my hair is undone and I don’t have make up on. Prefers me sweats so i am comfortable. Never swears in front of me. Protects me. Helps me with anything I need help with. can cook. Loves his guitar and music.

… We are in our senior year of high school. He failed many classes in his past and is being lazy about it and may not graduate. He lost his job because he got to busy with school stuff. Couldn’t afford car insurance and then his car broke. This all happened about three months ago. I have be very patient and now I am getting pissed. It doesn’t take three months to find a job. and if he really wants to graduate he won’t wait till the end… How can I date someone who can’t get their life together. He is the sweetest guy in the world and I am so in love with him but I can’t babysit my boyfriend you know… Plus when i have to drive everywhere and pay for everything when we even go places. Its hard… What do I do? How do I fix it? I don’t know how to live with him or live without him.
Thanks. I was so busy trying to help him and I didn’t see it that way. I know it is really hard for him. I just want to see him get things together so he can be happy.

Open Question: I need help? I’m 17 and will be kicked out of my house if I don’t join the military.?
Hello everyone I would like to hear everyones opinion on what I should do as many more people out there with much more life experience than myself. I am 17 years old and I will be 18 in 6 weeks. I have had my share of screw-ups and was beginning to get my life back on track when I had some bad luck. I totaled my car on my way to work. I never thought one accident could screw my life up so bad but it did. It was the last straw that broke the camel’s back. This is my third accident and I’ve received two tickets (3 if I get another one for this accident). Insurance dropped me and I am 95% sure that I will lose my license. If the cop issues a ticket for this last one then I will. My dad wants me to join the military, the airforce to be more specific. He is certain that, at this point, is is the ONLY option and the only way I will succeed in life. I beg to differ since I believe you can do anything if you set your mind to it. I want to go to college, more specifically I want to be an attorney. My dad say he wants to help me and he will in any way he can, but in his eyes that is by going into the military. If I don’t, he is done helping me and is kicking me out of the house in 6 weeks. My parents just split up a few months ago so my mom is not in the picture anymore. I also dissenrolled from school around Thanksgiving of my senior year ( I know, bad move, and I regret it 100% but I spoke to my guidance counselor and it is too late to return). I plan on getting my GED and still have high hopes of becoming a very successful attorney. I know the military is a good option and have done quite a bit of research but my main concern is leaving my girlfriend who I am absolutely in love with. We talked about it and she will always be there for me no matter what I decide and we plan on getting married before I leave if I decide to go. I don’t know what to do. I don’t want to do into the military, but I know it will be tough if I don’t on my own, working, and going to school at the same time. I know if will be tough and I will greatly struggle especially without a car or license, but I also believe you can do anything if you set your mind to it. My jobs only pays $7.50/hr. I was making $15.00/hr working construction under the table but can no longer do that because I don’t have a car and I was commuting to New Jersey. Also, I don’t know if welfare or food stamps is an option if I move out so let me know about that if you have any knowledge regarding that. In my father’s eyes, if I don’t go I am doing absolutely nothing to help myself and therefore he won’t help me. My dad wants my decision by tomorrow and I have given it much thought, but I still don’t know what to do as it is my life were talking about and I want to make the right decision. Right now I am leaning towards not joining but I really do not know. Please let me what you think I should do. I appreciate all your responses in advance.
Thanks for all your responses so far. At this point, I don’t think I can leave my girlfriend for 4 yrs just like that. I have been doing some research on the Army National Guard and the Army reserves so I would be able to stay around with my girlfriend, keeps working, and hopefully still make my dad happy. Is the National Guard worth it? Benfits, pay and all and still a chance of being deployed. Thanks again and please feel free to email me at Snowboarder1591@yahoo.com if you would like. Thank you

Open Question: When President Elect Obama promised to go “Line by Line” to eliminate earmarks, what did he mean?
I want you to know that some of these are OK with me. This is the first Budget signed by our new President, below is a list of a few of the 9,000 plus earmarks…

$200 million to refurbish the National Mall (including $21 million for new sod),
$50 million for the National Endowment of the Arts,
$650 million in coupons to help people switch from analog to digital televisions,
$2.4 billion for “carbon capture” demonstration projects,
$4.19 billion for ACORN and other “Community Stabilization Activities” groups (even though ACORN is the subject of a RICO corruption lawsuit),
$400 million for “global warming” research,
$335 million for sexually transmitted disease education,
$2.1 billion for Head Start,
$2 billion for day care programs,
$500 million to speed up the processing of Social Security Disability claims,
$150 million for “livestock insurance,”
$6 billion for colleges and universities,
$13 billion in Title I grants for academic support,
$13 billion for special education grants to states,
$20 billion for food stamps,
$1.7 billion to help the homeless,
$1 billion to pay heating bills for poor people,
$200 million for senior nutrition programs,
$200 million for Americorps,
$300 million for “green” golf carts,
$30 million for “smart” appliances,
$5 billion for public housing,
$87 billion in Medicaid funds for the states,
$2.5 billion for the National Science Foundation,
$2 billion for the National Park Service,
$2 billion for “neighborhood stabilization programs,”
$650 million for the National Forest Service,
$600 million for NASA,
$600 million for new cars for the government,
$75 million for programs to help people quit smoking,
$800 million for Amtrak (which hasn’t earned a profit in four decades),
$150 million for maintenance at the Smithsonian Institution,
$79 billion to help pay down state debt from reckless spending (in California, New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts),
$17 billion for Pell Grants,
$400 million for “habitat restoration projects,”
$726 million for an after-school snack program,
$2.25 billion for national parks (essentially doubling the park service’s budget), and
$30 million to save the habitat of the “salt marsh harvest mouse” (which lives in the area of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi).

So, what did President Obama mean?
Fred K – Just a note: Dem Congress and House did not pass the budget, waiting for Obama to get in office. President Bush never saw the final product, you cannot sign what never crosses your desk! They knew Obama would just sign it.
