Voting Question: Updated please re read Wierd or Offensive?
I got several replies I truly appreciate…However I left out some important details to give you guys the big picture so the replies I get would directly apply to this particular situation
I have stat orders from my doctor for several tests. One test requires that I am completely nude. When I called the radiology Dept to schedule this test, I requested a Male tech, I was then told no and drilled as to why I didn’t want a female tech. After hours of this and getting my health insurance company involved I got the test scheduled with a male tech.
The thing is my female friends asked why I was unable to get the appointment at first I told them the radiology dept refused to do the test since they can’t get a male tech, ALL of my female friends were offended and mad at me.
I told them that I am EXTREMELY uncomfortable being nude in front of ANY female period. I have only been nude in front of two females in my entire life. One my mother when I was growing up obviously and the other was when I was at the general surgeons Exam room the female Medical Assistant walked in like it was expected I would be ok with it and I wasn’t I was just to far from the door to SLAM it in her face ( she is always rude) . The test since some haven’t heard of a fully nude medical test, It’s a Testicular Ultrasound. The doctor is thinking it is cancer. I am doing this test only to shut the doctor up as he keeps insisting I have it done. The outcome doesn’t matter as this is the only thing I am doing regardless of the results.
The question Is…… Is it wierd or offensive to not want a female tech to do this test ?
(Even my mother is mad!!!!!)
