Open Question: Question about health care?
I’m trying to save up for shoulder surgery. I had a snowboarding injury several years ago that tore a rotor cuff. It’s ok now. It doesn’t hurt or anything unless I’m doing something physical that pops it out of joint. So I’ve had to change my life to avoid doing things that could pop it out of joint.

Well, I had a consultation with a surgeon and my health insurance company approved the surgery. So, I would basically have to save up 5,000.00, my annual maximum deductible, and I could get this surgery.

My question is that if we go to nationalized health care, would I get this surgery for free? How can I know whether or not the new system would deem it necessary. What if they don’t and now I have no way of getting it done. I’d like to get it done for free. But at least with the current system I know that I can have it as soon as I save up the money. Is there any sort of gurantee with nationalized health care for this?

Thanks
Ok, just to clarify my biggest issue isn’t cost. It would be nice if it was free, but that’s not my primary concern. My primary concern is, do I have a way of knowing if this will be approved? I’m currently approved under my current insurance. Can I be guaranteed it will be approved under nationalized health care?

Resolved Question: If something happens to dad who has full custody, who would get custody?
My husband has full legal and physical custody of my step-daughter. Her mother willingly gave custody to him and she has no role in the child’s life (she lives 5 minutes away but hasn’t seen her or talked to her in about 4 years). I am Mom and doctors, teachers, etc see me as such. Most of her health insurance is through my employer and I pay for it. If daughter was to choose where to stay if something happened to her dad I am very confident she would want to stay with me (she is ten). My question is this, if my husband passed away, who would likely get custody of my step-daughter? Would her mom possibly get custody even though she signed it over to my husband? Would I be likely to get custody? Would husband’s parents be likely to get custody? I guess I want to know where I would stand in relation to my daughter’s biological mom and her grandparents. In comparison to her biomom and grandparents, I have had the biggest role in her life since I married her dad 6 years ago. Any thoughts? We all live in Indiana.

Voting Question: Any men out there suffering from a possible STD with no diagnosis? (please help)?
Around 10 months ago I had a sexual encounter with a high risk partner, and for 10 months I have been suffering with no diagnosis, the partner was sex worker in another state.

After billing around 8-10K to my insurance and paying out thousands in deductibles I have finally slowed down on trying to find an answer.

It all started 3 days after the encounter where had a small amount of blood at the beginning of urination, I was scared so I went to the emergency room and treated with a huge cocktail of antibiotics, followed by 2 solid months of 2 different antibiotics.

Later that week had extreme itching in the groin area that lasted 3 months. Followed by a swollen urethral opening of the penis and a pain in the urethral opening.

Later an itch developed in the anus as well, followed by a pain in the rite side of the stomach area, to the right and the middle of the nipple and the belly button.

I have cleared all STDs… pardon the spelling… the number next to the “X” Represents how many times tested.
HIV (3x)
Ghoneria (2x)
Syphilis (2x)
Hep A,B,C
Chlymidia (3x)
Herpies blood test (2x)
Full scan of the liver and areas around it
Fully physical checking blood all normal
Full screening of prostate fluid, all normal

I am starting to resume my normal life again, as I go to the gym 5 times a week. My strength has returned back to normal, I test healthy and live physically a very healthy life.

But as I write this my testicles feel like they have a sunburn (in between an itch and a burn) my side hurts (close to where the liver is located) I enjoy life but the pain/sensation i constantly go through makes me want to age and die a young man.

If this is what the rest of my life is going to feel like I dont mind checking out early if you know what I mean.

I am also on a prescribed low dosage of antibiotics that is designed to treat pain, it works for the most part but the feeling of crap still resides.

Any help or suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
I mentioned a low dosage of antibiotics, I meant to say a low dosage of antidepressants to ease the pain.
And also to clarify the area looks 100% normal, no swelling, redness, rashes bumps or warts.
What I did was stupid, I was on vacation and totally out of my zone, it was almost like I had left common sense back home or something. I have thought maybe its all with guilt, but I also realize you can get something from anyone any where, even a promiscuous partner.
