Open Question: health insurance sales agent help?
hello everyone i am a illinois resident that was offered a position with amerilife selling insurance, during orientation even in the add, it was not disclosed that we would have to get the licenses in health and life insurance ourselves, i would think that the company would pay for the classes etc.. and we we be commited to that agency for a period of time. well i am not working at the time and everything together is well over $400. i wanted to know would a student loan help since it is covering the class and the other parts? and if there are any people out there that is a health insurance sales agent if i do have to come out of pocket. will it be worth it? do you like the job? he told me it is VERY lucrative position but this one obstacle is in my way thank you in advance for your insight!

Open Question: FINANCIAL HELP GETTING MY HEALTH LICENSES?

Open Question: What do I do with 5.25 million dollars?
I wasn’t raised into money and I’ve got two financially unintelligent parents (my mother squandered a $350,000 settlement in 2 years, dad makes decent money but can’t keep a roof over his head due to carelessness) so I don’t really want their advice on $.
Here’s the deal, I’m 18, about to move out of the house and I’ve recently received 5.25 million dollars from selling a couple screenplays and songs- taxes on it have already been paid so the money is free and clear. So what do I do with it??? I want to be smart here…
I’ve already made an account and done the figuring for how much I should spend a year for general living and put enough into it to be able to be taken care of until I die of old age. That’s besides the 5.25. So, so far taxes are paid and my monthly bills are taken care of until I’m senile- hallelujah!
Now I need a house, furnishings, and a car- how much should I allow myself to spend on each? There’s a $840,000 condo in my state capital that I’ve fallen in love with but I don’t know if the price is right for me or not. I’m terrified that I’ll screw this up and it’ll be “easy come, easy go”. I might never sell another song or screenplay again in my life…
Also, I want to help my parents out but I’m a (lot) worried that they’ll screw it up and be asking for more come next year. I was thinking of buying them each a $250,000 home (they’re divorced) as a gift, no mortgage payments to worry about, and giving them each $25,000. My dad also owes $50,000 dollars and I want to pay it off and also set up a $50,000 trust fund for each of my little sisters to be able to start out on when they’re graduated. That’s 700,000 gone in gifts- good idea or not?
Last thing, should I even get credit cards/loans/insurance or just pay cash, if I have enough to cover everything, which I do, do I need these things for legal reasons or whatever? HELP a teenager make some smart decisions and not go broke in three years!
Why would I need a lawyer?
CBA- actually, it was a wire transfer. And I’ve calculated the amount I owe for taxes and deducted that to know what I’m left with so thanks! Really helpful answer.
