Open Question: I have a big problem!?
Okay for some reason, I think I want a baby at 15, Please don’t yell at me yet, read the whole thing. I know everything about prgnancy, insurance, costs upfront and monthly, college, and all that. I keep telling myself I need to wait. I need to get a job, car, and finish high school and go to college for nursing which will take 3 years. I want to wait so I won’t be called names at school and so I will have a life. But my head keeps telling my yes! I have babysat a little boy from a baby to a 3 year old and I have 2 cats that I have taken care of. I have a list of what I need for a kid. I feel like my body can’t wait, and that waiting to get married and college is to far away. Is it because I have been homeschooled and too antisocial? What is wrong with me?
I am not a bad person. I am a good girl. Good grades, I take care of my mom. I am not like the Jerry Springer girls. I am not a WHORE!
I know I should wait. I am going to High School in August so maybe I will be occupied and busy to think about that. I am going to have to be strong and wait. Get a car, finish High School, work at Disneyland and go to college lol! Oh and get married
First of all, In all of the little questions about “Am I going crazy for wanting a baby at 15?” Guaranteed in one of them someone says babysit or get a pet. Done both! And second, I know how hard it is, sleepless nights for a couple months, feeding when the baby wants you to, crying at night. Nonstop changing. And more. Plus I am not 13 I am 14 and going into High School

Open Question: Do you think this will work out, i’m trying to think everything out (please don’t judge)?
Hi, i’m Lauren. i just turned 20. i have always wanted a child very badly, but i was smart enough to tell myself to wait until the right time.
i have been single my whole life, i have trouble getting close to men, i think bc of my father. dont’ worry though. i won’t let that affect my baby. i think i could be a very good mom. all day long i think of things that could happen with a baby, child, teenager and how i would react and say to my child. I’m very confident in being a good mom.
i babysit all my friends babies when they need me and i helped my step mom raise my half bros and sisters.
I am a CNA and make about 12 dollars an hour. I have about 3,500 dollars in the bank all for the baby.(i have been saving up for a baby since i was 18) i plan to breast feed.
i would like to get a sperm donor. please don’t judge me if you don’t agree with that. I have very strong reasons for it and my family accepts it.
So i have enough money for a sperm donor, but i would also like to only work 2 days a week when i have my baby so i can spend alot of time with him/her. My mom agreed she would help me babysit twice a week. So do you think with the amount of money i have that i could support the baby and only work 2 days a week until the baby is around three, then i will put him/her in a daycare?
also my work insurance covers doctor appts i would need and the delivery.
please no rude comments, i have tried to be very responsible with this.

thank you
Thanks for the answerers so far. i don’t have any bills really. me and my mom live together and i pay her 300 a month. that’s all the bills i have. also. i dont care about being young. that’s all out of my system. i don’t like drinking and partying. i want to be a mommy
You guys are right, i think i might get a 2nd job and save up another year!
everyone is very kind. I will take all answers into consideration. thanks for answering! and others can still answer if you want!

The Fortune Cookie (Billy Wilder, 1966)

How would a world without morals look like? Would you let money come before morals? Or love before morals?

These are the questions writer/director Billy Wilder asks us in this brilliantly dark comedy from 1967.

When CBS cameraman Henry Hinkle gets run down by Luther “Boom-Boom” Jackson while cover a football game, all he’s suffer is a small concussion. That is until his lawyer and Brother-in-law “Whiplash” Willie enters the scene will say. Because if Henry follows Willies plan, he will end up with half a million dollars, and get his runaway wife back. All he has to do is to fake a back injury.

But is it worth it when the insurance company bugs your apartment and the man who caused the injury becomes your friend and starts to take care of you because of his guilt? These questions poor Henry has to deal with when his unscrupulous Brother-in-law takes control over his life.

Fortune cookie is one of Wilder’s darkest and most serious comedies.

It’s a film about right and wrong. Henry Hinkle has to choose between money, and his wife back or a clean conscience.

Together with co-writer I.A.L Diamond, Wilder has created a dialogue that is razor-sharp, and he is at his sarcastic best with this insurance fraud-flick. There are few movies that have these snappy monologues, and you get impressed of where he gets all his ideas from.

The performance from Walter Matthau, which gave him an Oscar for Best Male Supporting role, is sensational. Matthau is the master of one-liners and face expressions, and Jack Lemmon proves once again that he is a comical genius. The spark between Matthau and Lemmon is the same one we could see between Lemmon and Tony Curtis in Some like it hot. Already from Lemmon’s opening line at courtside of the football game you know that this film is going to be hilarious.

As said it’s not only a comedy. It is a story about people who would do anything for money. Willie is, as he acts anyway, a very knowledgeable and successful lawyer who can quote any law book. So you wonder why he wants to scam a million when he could earn that money fair and square. He is a victim of the old expression “easy money”. It is easier to understand Hinkle’s dilemma. He maybe needs the money, but not in a way like this. He wants to earn the money in an honest way. He is just a weak push-over who gets fooled into the plan, in the belief that he will get his wife back. The wife who ran away and left him. When she suddenly starts to care about him again it is not hard to say no to a little fraud, but things are not that simple. His wife is not the innocent and caring little girl she gives herself out as. The relationship between the three people is not a pleasant one.

As a Brother-in-law, Willie is very demanding and insulting of his wife’s brother. That makes you wonder how Hinkle could let his sister marry such a scoundrel. So in a way, Lemmon and Matthau are playing the “odd couple” two years before the actual movie.

“Whiplash” Willie is sure that his plan is waterproof so he never doubts it a second. Hinkle has his doubts of course, and when the insurance company starts to suspect the set-up the whole thing turns into a catch-me-if-you-can story. In the middle of the mess is poor, unknowing “Boom-Boom” Jackson who feels such a guilt over what he’s done that he can’t continue playing football. So you understand why Hinkle doesn’t feel totally comfortable with the situation.

Wilder is such an amazing film maker that he can take the darkest and most evil sides of a human being and turn it into a warm and friendly comedy. We have seen it in The Apartment, we have seen it in Irma la Douce, and we see it once again in this comedy classic.”
