Open Question: Leaving estate and money to a minor upon my death?
I am divorced, and am working on a will and have a whole life insurance policy. If I die, I want my 9 year old son to inherit everything but he’s too young to be an official “beneficiary” and the money will have to be put in some sort of “trust”, which I don’t quite understand. What kind of trust/will do I need to implement, where the actual money/estate will be his but it has to be managed before he becomes of age? I live in Texas.

Resolved Question: Will term life policy pay if I die within 2 years of buying it?
I have a whole life policy now. I’m planning to cash it in & purchase a term life policy from a different company. The only thing is I’m concerned if I die within the next two years the new term life policy won’t pay my family. The purpose of having insurance is to leave them with less financial stress in the event of my death but now I’m concerned I’ll be leaving them with none. Can someone please explain?

Also, is it legal for me to carry both policies for the two year period if the new one wont’ pay for two years? I can’t really afford it but I would rather do that than to leave my family with no benefits & I definitely want to get out of this whole life policy asap.
